Joseph Buttiglieri is a shareholder concentrating his practice in the areas of probate litigation and administration, conservatorships, guardianships, wrongful death distributions, family law, and general civil litigation.
Mr. Buttiglieri is a popular speaker and writer on topics in his focus areas. He is able to hold the attention of attorneys and non-attorneys. For years, he has been a featured presenter at the annual ICLE Probate and Estate Planning Seminar. At the most recent seminar, he discussed challenging the trustee, advocating for beneficiaries, accounting issues, contesting trustee fees, removing corporate trustees, evidence programs and the use of alternative dispute resolution.
For a number of years he served as a member of the Supreme Court Subcommittee on Standard Jury Instructions for Probate Court. In addition, Mr. Buttiglieri maintains an “AV” peer review rating with Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, the highest peer review rating for attorneys. He was also selected for inclusion in the 2008 issue of Michigan Super Lawyers magazine featuring the top 5% of attorneys in Michigan.
