A message from Ralph Castelli
Ralph A. Castelli, Jr.
2009 put many businesses and families into a holding pattern. But Americans will not be immobilized for long. Many are cautiously optimistic about a New Year and the hope it could bring.

Whether business or personal choices have been on hold, many people are now deciding to move forward. Some are taking baby steps while others are making leaps of faith. Overall, I think everyone is ready for change.

This issue of the Commentator is devoted to changes, both big and small, that can make a difference in the lives of our clients. For instance, due to estate tax law changes, there are new opportunities for handing down property over the course of many generations. Another article points out how to conserve business resources by becoming a “green building.”

This time of year tends to give us many little reasons to be optimistic. For instance, some of our staff and attorneys decided to knit scarves for the needy. It started as a small project and became something wonderful – see page 3 for coverage.

I like to believe that 2010 will be a turning point for our local families and businesses. I hope our firm can help make it happen. We are always brainstorming fresh ideas to keep you on the path of progress.

Wishing you a healthy and prosperous New Year!

Best Wishes,
RAC Sig
