As many of the bigger companies are shifting economically, a new path is being paved for small businesses and start-up growth. “Downsized” executives and employees are now interested in finally pursuing life-long dreams of owning a business. This edition discusses how to make business ownership a reality with your own retirement savings.

Another off-shoot of the changing economy is the fact that businesses need to pay attention to every dollar spent. For instance, are they overpaying or underpaying their employees for training? If they sponsor events, are they getting the biggest bang for their buck? These questions are answered throughout this issue.

It’s safe to say, people are definitely tightening their pocketbooks these days. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. We have to be vigilant about protecting our finances and even our identities.
